Dr Dhakshinamoorthi Periasamy

Director of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care

Dr Moorthi is the Director of Anaeshtesiology and Intensive Care at Gleneagles JPMC. He is currently practicing as an Anaethesist and Intensivist. He attained his  medical degree, MBBS, from Madras University. He was trained as an Anaesthetist in Stanley Medical College in Madras. After training in Anaesthesia for 4 years in Madras, he then moved to United Kingdom to further his experience in Anaesthesia. After training for another 4 years he completed his FRCA in London. He went on to complete the Anaesthesia Fellowship in Dublin, Ireland and passed FFARCSI from Ireland.

He then moved to Singapore to work in National University Hospital. During his 7-year stay in Singapore, he was promoted as Consultant Anaesthetist. He was a Clinical Lecturer in National University of Singapore. He was trained as a Cardiac Anaesthetist in Singapore. During his stay in Singapore, he had published many papers in peer-reviewed journals.

When Gleneagles JPMC Cardiac Centre was newly opened in 2003, he joined as a Cardiac Anaesthetist and Intensivist. He has been working in Gleneagles JPMC since then and, so for he has performed Cardiac Anaesthesia for more than 2,000 open-heart operations.
