Dr Keyvan Kamalvand

Head of Interventional Cardiology

Dr Keyvan Kamalvand is a British cardiologist with 20 years of experience as a UK consultant. In addition to general cardiology, his interests are heart failure, arrhythmias, complex devices, and coronary intervention.

He qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1987 with a BSc and MBBS. He obtained his MRCP in 1990 and his cardiology training was predominantly based at Harefield and Guys hospitals, London. He undertook 2 years of research in cardiac devices and atrial fibrillation with an MD degree from University of London. He obtained dual accreditation in cardiology and General Internal Medicine in 1998 (UK). He was appointed as a consultant cardiologist at East Kent NHS Trust, and honorary consultant at St Thomas Hospital London, April 1998. He was the Director of Cardiology for East Kent Hospitals 2000-2003 and 2016-2018. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology. He has publications in major scientific journals as first author and has been a reviewer for journals PACE and Tehran Heart Journal. He has been an educator and Ph.D. examiner in the UK.
