Dr Patrick Ang Cheng HoInterventional Cardiologist
Dr Patrick Ang is the current Director of Invasive Cardiac Laboratory. He is a resident cardiologist in Gleneagles JPMC. His other roles, which are involved in ensuring clinical standards are met within the hospital.
Dr Patrick Ang is also a Lecturer of the CME committee at the Ministry of Health and the University of Brunei Darussalam. He has had published several journal papers and is often a speaker in local, regional and international Cardiac meetings, particularly in the field of Coronary Angioplasty and Stenting.
Dr Patrick Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a basic medical degree. He received his postgraduate degree in UK in 1995.
Subsequently he underwent three years of cardiology training at the National Heart Centre of Singapore General Hospital. He then sought further specialization in Interventional Cardiology for one year at the Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia where he was personally trained by Professor Ian Meredith. While there, he performed more than 200 PTCAs and 700 angiograms.
On his return to Singapore, he was appointed first as an Associate Consultant and thereafter, as a Consultant at the Cardiology Department of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He was also appointed as the Principal Interventional Consultant Cardiologist before he joined Gleneagles JPMC in 2003.
As of 2020, he has performed more than 10,000 angiograms, 5500 PTCAs and 2000 IVUS at Gleneagles JPMC in Brunei. He also specialized in performing OCT, IFR, ASD and PDA Closure and peripheral angioplasty.
